The Devil Behind Their Words

“Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The devil uses the words of those who know us best to hurt our confidence in Christ. The people who know our weaknesses and insecurities. When they unleash a verbal assault, know this is a strategy of Satan. These moments come when you are riding high in your walk with the Lord.

For me, when the devil attacks me as a dad, it stings deep, because I’ve never made an excuse for my physical limitations. I’ve busted my butt to provide for my son. So, when the devil launches a word bomb my way, I know it’s him and he’s trying to cause doubt, shame and guilt in my life. He’s thinking if he convinces me that I’m a bad dad, then I’ll stop serving Jesus.

But he’s a liar and the Father of lies. So, we limp on for the Lord and we don’t let him stop us from limping for Jesus.

Prayer-

Their words hurt but we know where they come from, Satan’s lies. Lord, give us a tough skin and soft heart to serve you. May we be so filled with your Word, the words of the dark spiritual forces won’t even faze us. Amen!
