When Troubles Makes It Hard To Believe
By: Pastor Mike Matthews
“Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”
Luke 15:7 ESV
Circumstances can blur our vision of Jesus Christ. A spouse dies. A child get sick. Bills stack up and our faith is on life support.
In these seasons, we can lose our mind and our hope dries up. We can even forget God loves us.
But the good news? God never forgets us.
Like a soldier on a special mission to rescue a prisoner behind enemy lines, he comes get us. He rescues his children from their battle with doubt and unbelief. The one wayward Christian is important to him. He still loves the ones who are standing strong. But the one needs his special attention to bring them back home to the family.
Are you hurting? Do you think your circumstance proves God has abandon you? Is your faith failing?
Look up! Your God is right there. He’s calling you to come back home.
Heaven is waiting to rejoice when you embrace the King again.
Limp on! Limp well. Limp loved.
Prayer
Lord, thank you for coming after my heart when troubles cause me to run. I love you. I believe. Heal my unbelief.
